A '68 Calendar to see when your CS was built..

Here is both an image from an old telephone book (a perpetual calendar page), and a website for you, with the days, weeks, months--and even holidays, of the year 1968.

http://www.flicklives.com/Timeline/1968_cal.html

Here you can look at when your GT/CS was bucked, assembled, serialized, sent to the dealer, bought; your own birthday, etc...etc..

Bear in mind, that without a Marti Report to explain, the build date on your door tag might not be accurate (as scheduled).

Enjoy!

Hmmm, mine was built on April 2nd, a Tuesday. I'm hoping it wasn't the three-day Spring holiday weekend. Otherwise it might as well be a Monday car. Actually, a three day weekend Tuesday car IS worse than a Monday car in my book, dang!!! ;-)

Mine was on April 3 , also a Wednesday car. Allways heard when I was a boy to never buy a car built on a Monday or Friday. What's up with that? Perhaps workers hung over on Mondays and too tired to work on Fridays?

Mine is a Friday car. But as long as it is taking me to restore it, the song by Johnny Cash comes to mind, "One piece at a time" (I wish I could say it "Didn't cost me a dime") and "It was a 51,52,53,54........". LOL Mike

My car was born Wednesday May 15th, 1968. My daughter was born Tuesday May 15th, 1990. I`m so proud of them both!

Uh oh, Monday, April 15th, after long Easter weekend and on Tax Day no less. Hope it doesn't fall apart soon

Now that the Ford autoworker stereotyping is over (or maybe not), can i ask what the three-day spring holiday is? Last i checked, april fool's day is not a holiday.

While at it, may be we can stretch this thread a little bit,,,,

Easter was on the 14th of april

If you're into special events, you may want to check this link of significant events which happened during that year.

How far can we go, and still keep it interesting....

Take care.

The 1968 GT/CS`s that exist now are probably the ones that were built on good days.

I mean, come on, they`re almost 40 years old! And you guys are worried about what day of the week they were built?

April 2 - Bombs placed by Andreas Baader and Gudrun Ensslin explode at midnight in 2 department stores in Frankfurt-am-Main; they are later arrested and sentenced for arson.

Maybe this was on the mind of the San Jose Ford autoworkers while building your car?

Youngest adoptive mother of your CS

Oh no, I was only 4 years old in 1968. It`s my baby alright, but I`m its adopted mother.

Hmmmm,....is it possible that you may have broken the record of the youngest "adoptive" mother of your CS?

Believe me, they get some crazy superstitious ideas. I'd say the ones that are still going are the lucky ones. The CS I have, used to have problems when my dad first bought it, but not anymore after my brothers worked on it.
