For sale is this aqua GT/CS with a 289 from a '65 and an automatic transmission. It isn't my car, but I've been working on it for the past few months, getting it ready to sell. In my opinion it's a solid car and was mostly well restored. After restoration the car was rarely driven. The battery was dated 2013 so I'm guessing it wasn't driven at all after 2017 or so, meaning it was parked for the last 7(ish) years.
I replaced the front suspension and the tie rods, fixed the hood pins and fog light, plus a few other odds & ends. Replaced the coolant, brake fluid, oil & filter, transmission filter and fluid, greased the steering box, etc. I've been driving it around town and it runs great, except the brakes are a little weak; perfectly usable, but weaker than I prefer. Not sure what's going on there. There also seems to be a slight transmission leak coming from the linkage area. Oh yeah, as you'll see in the underside photos the restorer sprayed the entire front suspension with some thick, shiny, black material. Replacing the suspension removed most of it, but there are still many parts coated in black.
As you can see in the photos this isn't a perfect car, but it could be extremely nice with one winter's worth of light tinkering.
Let me know if you want to owner's contact information or more photos. These photos are reduced, but I have the originals if you want higher resolution. I can also take photos of anything you want to see.
