Back Seat/Trunk Separation Material

The above photo is the steel barrier that has been talked about. The one I used is a lot smaller and doesn't extend as far down as the one above, it doesn't interfere with the seat belts. It actually cuts off just above the transmission hump/driveline area and would seem a lot easier to me to install. There are several types out there on the market.

I was looking around for the steel dividers for myself. Just something that's always been in the back of my mind since I saw the report.
I've also read claims that the problem still exists right through to today's design.

I've seen the steel dividers for less money a few places.

John's Mustangs for $69 and Laurel Mountain has it for $45.

I installed the metal barrier in ours four or five years ago but I was also looking at the wed page of The Antrock Mustang Stable and they also have an interesting tank protector.
You can see the TANK ARMOR on their site, www.tankarmor.com and they are located in Arizona.
They show how to install it and it looks like it could work.
The problem I have would be the shipping cost from Arizona to Canada.
If anyone has one of these, or is familiar with it, I would be intrested in knowing what they think of it.

This "Tank Armor" looks interesting. I wonder if they'd offer to do an experiment (a la "Mythbusters" on TV), with this armor in place, fill the tank with water, and slam the rear end (of a test mule ratty '67 coupe) with something like an old SUV at 40mph, and see what happens with the water. Maybe also include a metal back seat barrier, screwed in place (and with some caulking?).
