Big Box on Inner Fender

Does anyone know what the box on the passenger inner fender does? Is it some sort of electronic ignition? The photo isn't clear enough for me to read the labels. Do they say, "Mallory"?

The second photo shows a different type of box, which is obviously an MSD type unit. It seems to have the same size of cable as in the first photo.

Sorry, never mind, I found it. It IS a Mallory HEI unit.
