Do our brake boosters have a hooked rod as shown in the photo, or are they straight? Are the hooked ones for use with the PDB pedal?

Arlie, the booster in the photo is typical for 1969. It is a Bendix booster.
Midland would have been used in 1968, on a Mustang.

Thanks Scott. I just grabbed a photo of one with a hook.
So as I understand it I need to order a ‘70 booster if I don’t want to swap out the pedal, for drums all around. I’m not concerned about complete accuracy for the year.

My experience shows both the Bendix and the Midland Ross booster in 1968. Early 1968 cars may have had the Midland Ross style and later cars the Bendix. Not sure of the break point or any differences in plants where Ford cars were built.

No Bendix boosters on 68 cars. The change over happened in early 69.

Were Bendix units used as service replacements?

While digging through my parts looking for a gas pedal grommet I ran across the pedal on the left. Any idea what it’s for?
