The headers arrived yesterday!! Already in the car. These are Stan Johnson long tube headers from Ford Powertrain Applications in Washington. These long tube headers are ceramic coated, have 3/8 inch thick flanges, 1 5/8 step tubes, and are positively the best fitting headers I have ever seen in a Mustang since 1972!! No need to drop the power steering ram. They tuck up higher than stock exhaust. Once in a while you buy something that is so well engineered you cannot believe it. These are the bomb!!

The headers were the final equation to where the Ron Morris motor mounts would let me set the engine fore and aft. It is back as far as it can go to the firewall. Blower belt now clears the radiator and fans! With that I can final finish the final pieces. I fabricated the throttle linkage and the throttle valve bracket. Lots of fun and made from aluminum. Rough racer look matches the rest of the plain aluminum look. Throttle return spring bracket is next. Driveline is being shortened as I type.

Going to go with braided fuel line with AN fittings. More to do...

Hope to light off in the next two weeks!! Can't wait!!!

Rob

Steve,
Would be great to meet you in person! You remind me of me. I call myself "tug scum" because of my job managing port operations in the NW. We are as simple as dirt!

I may have to take a trip to the great potatoe state soon!!

Your white car with a red interior is awesome, but I would love to browse through the rest of your "stable".

I plan to "you tube" the engine once running!!

Hey Rob, you're welcome anytime. Most of my stuff are just projects in waiting but there's plenty to talk about.

Driveline is shortened and installed. Shift lever is shortened and installed. Need to cut hood to see what height air cleaner I can get under the CJ hood scoop. Gas line and a return spring bracket and a bit more fussing........

Light off soon....
