I know size of engine matters in value but what about colour?? I'm looking at a 68csgt in silver with black vinyl roof and matching striping. It is a very sharp combination but what effect does it have on value? The car appears to be in phenominal condition and sports a 289 4 bbl power steer and disc brakes..it also has headrests and black leather interior?
Were either of these options on a csgt in '68? When disc brakes are concerned, did Ford put them on all 4 wheels or just the front? What price range would sound reasonable?

Lotsa questions, I know.... Thanks for your help.

No silver (unless a special order paint), stripes would be GT/CS side stripe or hood (w/louvered, would be a low gloss black), no rear discs, no leather in '68.

289 4v is an option, would have an A as the 5th character of the VIN. Front discs and power steering were options.

If a modified A code GT/CS in "good" condition you could be looking anywhere from 14-25k as a ballpark.

Get the VIN, get a Marti report to verify. That and pictures will drive a better estimate.

Paint colors are pretty subjective so hard to put a value on. Silver wasn't a factory color, so it's really more a matter of whether a potential buyer cares about that.

Headrests were a factory option, but not leather seats. (The Cougar XR-7 package had factory leather)

Disc brakes were a front wheel only factory option.

A 289/4v was no longer a factory option in '68 due to the introduction of the 302/4v. That said, a four-barrel upgrade on a C-code is not uncommon to see and IMO wouldn't be much of a factor in pricing unless you are looking for complete authenticity.
