Neil...STOP! Stop beating yourself up sweetie! I was backing my beautifully restored El Camino that we'd had for 29 years into the garage next to the CS. It was late and dark and I thought I might be too close to the Mustang. Well I was. That's how I scraped my right scoop on it, but to tell you the truth I was more worried about the killer red paint on the Camino that was fairly new. I didn't crack my scoop but it did take off a chunk of paint and messed up the stripe portion of the tape. Didn't hurt the Elkie at all.

By the way, I think I still have a bunch of flight manuals and guides/templates from our Cessna days. Do you have any need for them?

Now, back to the original post.

...Neil, years ago my first S-code GT/CS rolled from where it was parked right into the side of our house! 'Punched a hole in the dining room wall and mangled the right fender and hood on the car. Lacking (your) skills and extra cash - I became sick about it and sold it. I took out a loan & got a slightly more practical 69 Mach which I drove for 20 years...'long story, but here we are today with good friends, an empathetic support group, excellent parts network, and every indication that although life happens - it's ultimately for the better!

You will bounce back and we will all be the wiser...

I dented the hood 5 years ago on my 67 Fastback. Started the engine and it was in gear. lurched forward into my craftsman roll around..... One drawer still has a couple small dents to remind me of my stupidity everytime I work on my cars....

I've ordered the new parts to repair the damage: Ford repo fender, wheel well molding, rocker molding. I'll check & fit the fender, then have it painted and re-assemble. A friend owns a paint & body shop so he'll match the paint and spray it for me.
I'm juggling 3 jobs now - operating our FBO, resurrecting my '68 convert, and now the C/S repair. Next week I'll be 69. One of these days I gotta slow down!!
I loaned my MOOG coil spring compressor to cnassif (Christian) so he can do the springs (safely) in his car. If anyone ever has the need, just let me know.
Bed time, now. It's 2AM.

Neil
