Doing a few things on my 390 CS

I replaced the valve covers on my 390 CS the other day and once they were done I cranked it up and drove it around a little. The engine was missing and obviously there was some kind of problem. I could not figure it out so I had it flatbedded to my shop. They found that the rotor was damaged and replaced it. Cool problem solved.

Before I did all of this the last 3-4 times I drove the car I noticed it would not downshift and was revving kinda high. If I nailed the throttle to the floor the transmission would slip before engaging into the next gear. Sooooooooo we took the transmission pan off and found that the 3rd gear band had broken. So it looks like it will get a reguild of the transmission. While we are there I am going to have them make it so the shifts are a little harder so it will lay down some second gear rubber. ;D

I am also having the radiator sliced open and the core cleaned and then having the original tanks rewelded back.

While we had it up on the lift we found out that BOTH manifolds have cracks in them so I am chasing down some correct manifolds and getting them here asap while the car is apart.

Once this stuff is done this car will be good to go and will not need anything for a good while. Looking forward to gettting it back and laying some second gear scratches. ;D
