Can anyone recommend where to buy the best reproduction door shells for a 1968 GT/CS. I have read that there is Dynacorn and Golden Legion both are Taiwan brands. Any other brand out there that has a good fit and looks original?
Thanks

Athough DynaCorn makes a good product, I have never had good luck with thier product, things just don't fit well. I may be an exception and others may have had good luck, so I don't want to cast them in a bad light. Just my experience. If you need both doors I would search for good original doors or make sure the "Repop" doors are made on "Original Ford Tooling". I'm sorry I can't recommend anyone. Before you buy from a wrecking yard, visually inspect the doors just for peace of mind. My experience with anyone here on this site has been great and if they say it is good condition, you can bet they are. Ron Moore with R&R Classics, see link on left side of your screen, may have good contacts such as A&M Mustangs, they are a local Mustang wrecking yard in Sacramento, Ca. Good Luck and Do It Right the first time. Hope this helps. Mike

ps. Where are you located? I do know someone who has several 68' coupes for parts cars. What color is your car, I can check on a price and availability for you.

The problem with donor doors is that you never really know how good they are until you sand blast them. I had two good dooors off a 67 until they were blasted - rust issues in the corners. I will probably repair the doors I have and will re-skin them. I'm using the Golden Leaf re-pops - time will tell how well they fit but so far they look OK.

I am with Mike on this issue. Both of my cars have had rust repair in the lower front corner of the doors. Certainly a rust spot for all Mustangs of the first generation. I would submit that a large amount of the restored cars today have had some repair here at one time.

This is not a difficult repair. I have tried to work the "alignment" of aftermarket front fenders to stock doors and vice versa. A much more costly job to get good fit and finish. All the gaps nice and tight and the alginment of the lines form front to rear.

My brother-in-law just used an aftermarket fender on a 67 Mustang. Tried to talk him out of it. Fit very poorly. Lots of work and it still is the worst area of his car.

I use aftermarket exterior sheetmetal very sparingly.
