The Elite report on my CS/CJ has nothing about the black stripe on the hood or the hood scoup. Just my 2 cents.

I think that may be because all CJ cars in 68 came with that black hood scoop and stripe. Not the case with non-CJ cars. So the black stripes on the hood (different from the single stripe on CJ hoods) would be an option for non-CJ cars.

Come to think of it you are 100% correct.

Come on, John. I doubt if I'm 100% correct. I don't think that has ever happened before. No sense in spoiling my record now.

Joe,
You and your dad have a prety good record when it comes to Stangs and other cars. I thought I knew every nut and bolt on my CS, but you and the guys/gals on this site have proven me wrong. Keep up the good work!

Most people in my area have never seen or heard of a California Special, except mine of course.

We should see how many Marti's have strips on the options list.

That's just kind of a running joke we have. I love his cars, so I call him Dad in the hopes he'll leave them to me in his will.

No father could be more proud of his son than I am of Joe. He does take after his mother more than me though. etc, etc, etc.

This was how I was going to reply but got home from work to late. Darn! I never get to have any fun!

The black paint stripe mentioned in the Marti Report if I'm not mistaken is for the hood stripe that could be ordered on these cars.

Don

Don,

Are we sure that this is the stripe it refers to? I thought it was the pin stripe option.

I have seen to options listed in 1968

Two-tone hood paint $19
Accent paint stripe $14
