Know it was not done originally on coupes. Wondering if anyone has looked into it?

I am doing an EXP500-ish car and have both CS/GT and functional Shelby scoops. I am unsure if a wide thin plenum could be worked behind the window "plate" with the channels, and a transition to the wheel well done.

Abandoning a functioning rear 1/4 window is also a possibility.

Curious if anyones looked into it or done it.....

I haven't done it, but I think the window mechanism would be in the way. Even is you could fabricate something "flat" that would work, I think all the sharp angles that would be necessary would prevent any usable airflow. On the fastback Shelby's, a round hose was used. If you really have to go that route, I would suggest using something like a later Mach 1 window mechanism that bolts the quarter window in place and then using a round hose. In my opinion, a far better solution for brake cooling would be to install rear disc brakes and then an "open" wheel, something like the '67 Shelby Kelsey Hayes Magstar.

Yep, very familiar with the original fabrication.

Open wheel ain't the look I'm after... going with the Shelby style... just wondering if the ducts could be done and provide some function if I go with the open Shelby scoops over the GT/CS closed...
