Tiffany, don't sweat it. Try to understand that most people here take a huge amount of pride in the cars and are often so consumed w/ GT/CorrectnesS that they can't help but to point out the anomalies... They too (like you) put alot of effort & care into their restorations and yes - (some of us) don't handle criticism well either.

I initially arrived on this site a little "bent" because they were criticising a car I was looking to buy so badly that the guy (CEO of the Shelby American Holdings Company) pulled it away from me for not wanting to deal w/ such pettiness... I was livid at some of the comments I read here!

But I hung around & found that most everyone here will go way over the top for you should you decide to own another. The fellowship here is extremely good if you have a good attitude. I'm now sorry for saying your car was a "disappointment" 'cuz I remember how that feels...

But do stick around Tiffany - and with time, the support and fellowship you get here will help you to a loft of joining us in critticising future restorations & clones. ;-) ...That's just something that will never change.

Tiffany, I am sorry if what was said upset you. I love Mustangs of all kinds, and what I saw of your Mustang it looked prety good. But I still think that as a CS clone, I stand by what I said in my earlier replies. John

Tiffany, I don't really know where to start, but since I just got to this thread, I'll try to help you understand. I really doubt anyone here was trying to hurt you directly. We look at every car and judge it, more as a pastime than for any other reason and if you look at past threads we are just as likely to mention the wrong tail light bezels as the correct fog lights or grill. We're just making conversation among ourselves. There are millions of websites with people talking about a lot of things, some of which will concern you, some not, but do they have a responsibility to notify you when something is being said that you might be interested in? Of course not. Join our group, become part of the family and you'll know everything we know. Many people here have cars that are in the process of being built and many have show cars. Everyone helps each other and provides information and insight that you can either use-or not. We have our squabbles from time to time, but we get over it. You come here and right off the bat tell us to shut up if we don't like what you like. Get over it. Insulting us or slamming our upbringing isn't the way to make friends on any group. Acknowledge you don't agree with us, explain your reasons, whatever and we'll move on to discussing tire sizes or something, but try to keep it nice at least until we get to know you.

Well anyways, I am not trying to collect mustangs or make a living off of them or trying to learn about them , what ever I knew I put all of my knowledge on this car and I have to pat my self on the back since I am only 21 years old and made it this far,

So im not interested in learning about the mustangs
I just need to sell this one and that’s it,
Also this thread has put my car down so badly
im more than sure i lost alot of bids from this thread

That’s why im so up set

Maybe you should have just listed it as a modified 68 coupe and left the GT/CS part out of the ad since it was`nt complete. What was mostly wrong with the ad was your description, not the car itself.

I doubt anyone on this board would have bid on your car. If you do not want to learn about Mustangs then this is not the place for you. I would suggest you list your car for sale and ignore this website, you might sleep better at night.

Tiffany, you're only 21 and you still have a lot to learn. You did do a nice job with your Mustang and I don't think the people on this site are slamming your car, rather the way it was represented. Maybe instead of representing it as a "California Special Clone" you should have said "California Special Clone Wanna-be."

Not interested in Mustangs, just want to sell one and make some "$". Well I know alot of people who would love to own your Mustang and may have bid on it, except for the big RED FLAGS that came up when said it could be easily transformed into a California Special. People who care about Mustangs and CS Mustangs know exactly what they were looking at on your ebay pic. John

Uh, no. Not really. That was meant as a tongue-in-cheek comment, hence the rolling eyes icon. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
