I'm finally getting ready to drop the engine in my car this weekend and need to find some pulleys by Friday. But I'm having trouble finding the right parts. The engine that was in it was a 69 351W that I sold, and replaced with the correct 302 J code.

So I have a J code 302-4V with no accessories - just the alternator and water pump. I need both the crank pulley and the water pump pulleys. So my question is will 65-67 289 pulleys fit? I only need single groove pulleys, are those correct or will I need two groove so things will line up right?

Any help is appreciated - I have to order Wednesday so they'll be here before the weekend.

I think the early pulleys will work. Ford used some differnt pulleys depending on the engine code and the accessories. I have a book at the shop that show some differnt set ups. I will look latter to day. Marty

As long as you get a matched set from a donor engine it will be fine. You will want to make sure your alternator bracket and spacer are the same as the donor, and you will have to buy a belt for the donor application. The last thing is to make sure you have the right bolt pattern, 3 bolt or 4 bolt, on your harmonic balancer. Newer balancers are 4 bolt and the older ones are 3 bolt.
