Tim's ....
Hi'ya again "Broadway Blue",
Yes, I suspect that Tim's in Canada is much like the Dunkin Donuts chains in the USA. Here on the West Coast there is absolutely huge competition between the Starbucks coffee chain and the Tim Horton's chain. Starbucks caters to the university student crowd and the intellectual market with trendy decor, classic pop music piped in, and "yuppie" style drinks and food items on their menu, which makes them hugely popular here in "California North"! They have a "coffee house" feeling to them, and encourage their patrons to lounge about in the outlets, sitting at the tables reading, relaxing, or for the actual university students that frequent them, to spend time working on homework or course related projects.
Tim's on the other hand caters to the "average Joe" looking for his morning "cup of Jo", with the early morning lineups at the store near my workplace stacked up right out the front door somedays. They have great fast meals too, with soup and sandwich choices that are a reasonable price and very quickly and efficiently served. In case you didn't know it too, the Tim Horton's chain of stores was merged with the Wendy's chain of food stores several years back, and that is why Tim's has expanded into the USA with a number of new stores.
So, as my best friend that sold me our "Canadian Special" always says to me: "There is your UBI for today ...."
(Useless Bit of Information)
If you can ever make it out here to the West Coast I still owe you the cup of Tim's coffee and the donut! (Do you want sprinkles on that?)
