This is not a true Shelby, just a 67 fastback with a body kit (stock taillights, no deluxe interior, no console, etc.). So numbers-matching (especially with a stroker motor) doesn't matter. It's a resto-mod, so even checking the VIN or doortag to see what it's as-built options were is pointless (it could have been ordered with a 6-banger and a 3-speed, for all we know).

Having said that, the paint looks sharp, the Cragars are nice, the LeCarra wheel and custom guages are cool. But the back seat looks a little dirty, and it appears a speaker grill is missing. The engine bay is dirty, which to me says this car is a bit neglected (I assume it wasn't delivered that way by the custom builder in Texas!).

So if you are really interested, and the seller won't work with you, see if someone local can look at it for you. But I'd listen to Grandpa Neil and skip it.

This is an exceptional car that is owned by a celebrity as part of his personal fleet of vehicles.

---Wouldn't call it exceptional...Look under the hood, dirty, no proper decals, a twisted piece of wire holding the heater lines?

It has been restored from the ground up in Texas by a professional company that specializes in these cars.

---Again "professional" is a loose term. See under hood. I don't think I'd drill a $10 alarm horn into my "restored" Shelby firewall. Wire ties to the braces, a fog light that looks like it's pointing at the moon? Professional and meticulous indeed.

It has a been restored with a very heavy duty racing differential, rebuilt engine, and custom paint job.

---What is a "very heavy duty racing differential", when was the motor rebuilt?, custom black paint? Stock 67 tail lights, very Shelby indeed.

396 Stroker
Lowest torque option for the rear end
Tremec T-5
It has been meticulously maintained and serviced.
Be one of the few people to own this rare and iconic muscle car.

---Good ebay sellers can say more about a pair of shoes...
