This is not a true Shelby, just a 67 fastback with a body kit (stock taillights, no deluxe interior, no console, etc.). So numbers-matching (especially with a stroker motor) doesn't matter. It's a resto-mod, so even checking the VIN or doortag to see what it's as-built options were is pointless (it could have been ordered with a 6-banger and a 3-speed, for all we know).
Having said that, the paint looks sharp, the Cragars are nice, the LeCarra wheel and custom guages are cool. But the back seat looks a little dirty, and it appears a speaker grill is missing. The engine bay is dirty, which to me says this car is a bit neglected (I assume it wasn't delivered that way by the custom builder in Texas!).
So if you are really interested, and the seller won't work with you, see if someone local can look at it for you. But I'd listen to Grandpa Neil and skip it. :smile:
