I also noticed JB's car is doing well on Ebay. We will all be anxious to hear the final number but so far the price looks pretty good!! I know it is worth every penny of it.

Good Luck JB!!

i am happy the car has met the reserve. I talked to the bidder by email and he is bidding for someone else. I did not reveal my reserve price to them so they bid what they were willing to pay.

I can guarantee any s code CS on ebay that I will be a bidder. I might not win the car but I will be a player.

Can you have too many S code CS's? ;)

Jason;
I look at this way - any "S" code mustang is worth having. Even if it's not a CS. They are few and far between these days. That's why I bought my GT Coupe back in 02 and when I found the CS in 04 (my girlfriend thought I was nuts to want another 390 mustang) with a 390 and 4 speed I was bouncing off the walls. :grin:

im just wondering Jason...your 48K original EVERYTHING GTCS is the most original and best kept California Special I've ever seen...it might have the fewest original miles of any california special left...im just wondering why you are selling it for under $25K?...is it because...you probably dont even want to drive it because you want to keep the original miles low to keep its elegance and its value?

if this is true...i just want to make a small point...having a calfornia special is all about enjoying it. If you cant even drive the car because its soooooooooooooooooo stock and original, then you arent enjoying it to its maximum. Of course this is a matter of opinion, and when i say "your not enjoying it to its maximum"...im saying that from a standpoint where enjoying it to the fullest is when your driving it, because that is what a CAR is all about. However when the car is a historical artifact like jasons original 48K C code...perhaps enjoying it to the fullest is putting it in a museum and staring at it, while trying to maintain the enormous erection in your pants...

i think the fact that your selling it and trying to obtain an S code mustang that clearly will be more fun to DRIVE somewhat proves my point that enjoyment to the fullest of one's precious car is the desire to hear the sound of horsepower and the feel of torque.

one main reason why I am selling is that I like to drive my cars. I have come to the conclusion that I REALLY like the big blocks. I drive my 390 CS at least 3 days a week. the small blocks just don't do it for me.

yes, the original mile thing on the one I am selling factors into me selling it a little but not much. I do have enough cars that I can put 2-3k miles a year on each of them.

i am building the 428 car so I can burn some tires off it and have fun. My benz has close to 600 ft. lbs of torque so yes you can say I like horespower and torque.

Jason;

Amen to that. There's nothing like seat of the pants torque and set your ass in the seat horse power. I put almost 5,000 miles on my CS last year alone and that was in a little over 6 months. Drove her to Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina not to mention all the show's in Ohio I attended last year. I can't wait until the 390 is pulled and the new 428CJ motor goes in. I walk into the garage everyday now and just stand there looking at the parts I've already got and think "Man is this thing gonna fly". Hope to have it all together and in the car by late February. :icon_ecst

PS - Glad to see your car sold. Good Deal :grin:

i agree, nothing like the feel and power of a big block, although a very warmed over small block will fly and really surprize you too. efi helps that equation

I actually have come to enjoy a modified small block, much more than a big block. I have a big block Mach 1 that I don't really enjoy driving as much as I do my GT/CS or 65 convertible. The small block cars have better weight distribution and handle much better. Maybe it's because the suspensions have been upgraded, but nonetheless I enjoy driving them more.

I know with some modifications on the Mach 1, I could probably remedy the issues I have with it. But I can't bring myself to modify the car. It is mostly original with 66K miles.

So, bottom line is I'm going to sell it to someone who will enjoy it more.
