All,

Matched paint to lower cowel where it had been untouched. 8 color matches later we came up with a perfect match. Amazing how many different shades of Lime Gold there are. Not even close to what was initially offered to us.

All original sheetmetal although needed some work to save fenders. Quality work from Big Creek Restoration in Hays, Kansas.

Able to find Parchment Vinyl top finally!

Thinking of doing white hood stripes? Thoughts?

Thanks, Wally

Car came with white GTCS stripes. I know the only color offered for hood stripes was black.

Personally I think adding white hood stripes to a car with a white top and white side stripes may be a little too much white. But that opinion is worth what you paid for it.

White hood stripes will be too bright and cause a glare. That's why they were only offered in Black.

If You want to try it have it painted black and the have a white vinyl stripe put over it. If you do not like it you can take it off.

All,

I think that leaving well enough alone is the right answer. If it ain't broken, why fix it. The parchment top and white stripes should contrast nicely with the lime gold exterior.

Thank you all for your expert opinions.

I’m in the same boat as Wallace trying to get the correct shade of Lime-Gold. More paint getting mixed tomorrow.
