...It's okay, Renee :) I think most people would've chosen Hawaii over a car show.

Mike on the other hand, chose visiting Alacatraz!... or maybe it was chosen for him.
...'Haven't heard from him since the weekend. Has anyone?!?!

Give me time Marty, I am limited with what I can have and I just got here. As you can see, I don't even have a bed. I'll break them soon. They will get so fed up with me they will give in. Soon I will take over the mess hall and I have plans to turn it into a State of the Art Garage. Broadway is a little short, but Timing Lights are being installed tomorrow. LOL.

...Speaking of travels. Our boy TJ had "VIP" seats at today's Indy 500 having spent a week there with "The Hub Society", a local car group he belongs to that specializes in correct metallurgy of parts used in early 20th century restorations! :)

Awesome. Ive never made it to Indy. Two drivers that raced & drove for my dad in the Northeast way back when, actually won the 500 back in the 1950's (Ted Horn & Lee Wallard). And I used to work for a guy that won it once- Eddie Rickenbacker!

Very cool Tim, way to go TJ!

I have an indirect Indy 500 connection, too.
A dear friend of mine was married to Troy Ruttman, the youngest ever winner of the Indy 500.

...Took a drive to "PonyGal's" today for more Mustang fun and to pre-flight the "Foster/ Stevenson Special" for her busy 2012 show season in the Sacramento Valley. Renee's last log entry was September 10, but after an overnight trickle charge, the car fired up and ran beautifully! With no real cleanup needed, we proceeded to top off the fuel and a nice drive :) I swear... That thing feels more like a 351 Windsor than its 289 since Rob Campbell's carb linkage fix! Her "Goldie" coupe is top notch as well!

I've been pretty busy on mine, though only sporadically... 'Never miss an opportunity for a cruise here & there when friends are in town :)

Tim/Renee,
These shots mean so much more when you have actually been there. Goldie does not get the attention she deserves sometime. I drove that car and it is so solid and fun to drive. Don’t know exactly why, but some cars you get into just have a personality and a feeling you cannot describe in words. Renee’s GT/CS does have a nice “strong” feel to it. We need to find out what they did to the engine. some just seem to run a bit better than others.

I love the black California plates. They just add so much to a car from that era. Most of us who love our Mustangs grew up in the era when California was the hot bed of every new Detroit offering. And they all had black plates. Not to mention the movie that made me buy my first Mustang... BULLITT!!! Black plates all around!! Ever notice how many Mustangs are along the chase route? I now they sold a heap of them in California, but almost looked like a few were staged??

Had a wonderful day on Saturday when Tim came down for a while. It had been a while since I had gotten the Special out since I have been so darn busy this year. It was fun to get both cars out and I thank you Tim for reminding me about how much fun it is to just "play cars"

Took a really nice drive in Tim's sweet '70 and, I must admit, I cooked us an amazing dinner! Let's do this again soon!!

Rob,

Yes, Goldie does not get the attention she deserves sometime, but every time I get behind the wheel I fall in love with her all over again! She is such a sweet car and when I do get her out for a drive I never want to put her away again.

...Yet another awesome day (today) with Ron Moore "Clubpro" and Renee "PonyGal"! Ron brought his two special friends, Joe and Huey, to see and discuss the GT/CS and HCS cars. Joe had recently acquired an elusive Pebble Beige C-code and with Ron's incredible encouragement, was well on his way to becoming an educated enthusiast!

Renee brought up her beautiful "Foster/ Stevenson" and after some garage and car tours, we headed out for a wonderful drive and lunch (courtesy of Joe) with Ron commanding the "Midnight Special, Renee and TJ in her blue CS and I in the white J-code.

..."Special indeed is a "Special" at speed!

Thanks for the great day, Ron, TJ and Renee! :)

Tim,

I can't thank you enough for your great hospitality and for once again letting me take my favorite CS out for a drive. It was a perfect day and Joe is much more educated because of his time with you, T.J. & Renee'. Joe kept talking and talking and talking about the day and your stable. We ended up having dinner together and needless to say the conversation involved more about the CS and HCS. The wives were bored to tears to say the least. I hope to see you and Renee' at the M.C.A. show in Concord. Thanks again my good friend.

Cheers,

Ron
