Questions(s)

I currently have oval speaker that are mounted on top of package tray. I think the look is awful and I want to undermount them and then place package tray over them for a more refined (hidden) look.

My package tray is solid so I will either need to cut out holes the size of speaker, drill many little holes for sound to travel through or cut out strips of openings over speaker to allow sound to come through....Whichever way I go, I will be spray painting the tray black and then covering tray with black speaker fabric....

Suggestions as to best method??

I am aware that package trays can be had with holes already pre-drilled but mine does not...so if i cannot exchange it locally I will modify it myself.

Cut the oval into the package tray material, I used 1/8 inch paneling. Then I put screen door screen over the top surface, then covered the whole thing with the fabric. Almost undetectable.

Cool.....would never have thought if that.....
Do you cover only holes with screen or the whole thing? if only holes, how do you secure screen over ovals??
