Would like to know when you rebuild a carb is it best to put that plate under the carb and what is the purpose of putting the plate under the carb Thanks Tom
As noted the spacer provides cooling and can also helps shape the air/fuel charge from the car into the manifold. They can impact power/torque good or bad depending on the type used.
I think I have a couple of 4V spacers in my possession, if you are looking for a stock style spacer. I know the 4V is available reproduction, I can't remember how much they go for.
Thanks everyone for the help but I forgot to tell you I needed a plate to fit a 2 bbl thanks Tom if I put a 4 bbl do I have to replace the intake manifold?
a 4V spacer will not work for a 2V intake manifold as there are no provisions for the two rear mounting studs in the 2V. I have one from 72 302 2V that I just stripped down. PM if you want it.
