1968 Satan Returns

I went over to help a good friend of mine with an engine that needs some tuning. As it turns out it is the return of Satan. Or what is left of her. She was purchased from Amy and the new owner decided she needed a full restoration. The new owner shopped around and found a cheap (bad) restorer that convinced him to trash the original car and start over. Sad to say that the very rare pebble beige GT/CS is no more. It was cut up and disposed of. Mike has been alerted.

Bits a pieces of this car are now installed on a "not so nice" 1968 coupe. The cheap restorer kept many original parts and the engine. The new owner got thoroughly hosed in the whole deal. A high dollar motor with the valve covers off and the top of the heads coated in body sanded dust was given to my friend in the partially finished car.

My friend is a top notch Mustang restorer and has his hands full trying to help this guy out of a huge loss. Sad to see yet another innocent person getting taken for a ride. And the loss of a completely restorable and rare car.

Anyway, I hope to help to get this car running decently for the new owner. He deserves some decent treatment from the Mustang hobby.

A sad debacle all around.....

Reminds me of a sign I heard of, in a repair shop:

GOOD - FAST - CHEAP (Pick two)

That car, or it's spirit, just seems to follow you around Rob. I think you're in line for an exorcism. Good job helping the poor guy out though.

That is sad. It is a real shame when people with the best of intentions get taken advantage of. Good on ya for stepping up to help.

Wow. Her car needed some serious metal work (I saw it at a Round Up), but it wasn't a basket case! Very sad for all involved (the car and the hosed new owner).

Damn that person who cut up my beautiful car. I have no kind words so I will say nothing else besides I trusted the person I sold Satan to.

Satan was one difficult "filly" to be sure. But totally fixable. She was on the road and starting to be dependable and fun. Amy, the new owner seems to be one heck of a nice guy who was mislead and screwed over. Louis is my friend trying to bring something good out of all of this. The poor owner just wants to drive his car!!!

I will make it run once again. The new owner is not trying to pass it off as a GT/CS. I think he has a new appreciation on how dishonest some people can be and will never turn into one of them. I will get the VIN of the new platform that still holds a bit of what Satan once was.

Rob,

Thank you for being a good person and helping the new owner. I wish I was closer so I could help. Its obvious that there are people out there that don't have a conscience.

Hang in there, Dave
