I went over to help a good friend of mine with an engine that needs some tuning. As it turns out it is the return of Satan. Or what is left of her. She was purchased from Amy and the new owner decided she needed a full restoration. The new owner shopped around and found a cheap (bad) restorer that convinced him to trash the original car and start over. Sad to say that the very rare pebble beige GT/CS is no more. It was cut up and disposed of. Mike has been alerted.
Bits a pieces of this car are now installed on a "not so nice" 1968 coupe. The cheap restorer kept many original parts and the engine. The new owner got thoroughly hosed in the whole deal. A high dollar motor with the valve covers off and the top of the heads coated in body sanded dust was given to my friend in the partially finished car.
My friend is a top notch Mustang restorer and has his hands full trying to help this guy out of a huge loss. Sad to see yet another innocent person getting taken for a ride. And the loss of a completely restorable and rare car.
Anyway, I hope to help to get this car running decently for the new owner. He deserves some decent treatment from the Mustang hobby.
A sad debacle all around.....
