Some years ago (2007?) a seafoam green car sold for around $53,000 at auction. It was a C code and not real original. I have not seen one sell for as much since. I had one which I had professionally painted to lime gold (!), which, with the black stripes really "popped" and you can see it in the photo section. I went to great lengths to restore it to factory (show) condition, otherwise, despite the color change. Because I was up front about the change, it was auctioned on a Sunday at Barret Jackson (2010), rather than the previous day when the heavy hitters were bidding. Despite the huge investment in time and $$, changing the color ultimately hurt. Speed Channel made a big deal of the car and did several video interviews, but it only garnered $22-23k. I kept the email I received from Motor Trend Classics asking if I still had it, since they wanted to do a feature! OW!
