Here's a photo of how I safely installed a coil spring on a GT/CS. The strut compressors are wonderful. After compressing the spring with them, I installed the standard inner spring compressor. I'm not sure it was necessary but I didn't know if the strut compressors would fit. They fit just fine and they are so much safer, and easier to use than the internal compressors.

If you go this route make sure they are 90° from the seat tab. In other words they need to be forward and aft.
