Well, you do have many questions ... perhaps you could start with maybe taking a few pic's and posting them here, then we'll all be able to see your GT/CS and go from there ... if you aren't able to do pictures for now, then maybe looking up the VIN and posting here can be a first step along with other info like color, engine size, tranny (auto, 3spd or 4 spd manual?), any options (a/c, pwr disc brakes, etc.), condition ... we'll help you out like we've helped out others before ... we're a friendly bunch here  ...

...11,000 may not have been "way too much" depending on its condition, but as the others say - please post pictures, VIN and as complete of a description. For upholding its value, best to keep it stock IMO. Otherwise, do what you wish to make it "your" car.

Vist: www.martiautoworks.com , give them your VIN and order a report. We'll then compare how it came from Ford vs the condition it's in now. Please help "us" help "you" :)

Best regards!

Great questions and you've come to the right place as this group knows more about the GT/CS than any other group in existence so they can answer those questions.

PS if you would like your car to be in a book (makes no difference what condition the car is), you just need to have some digital pictures and a story and it sounds like you do have the story in that you bought it because it was your dads. Follow the instructions below but hurry hurry because we are getting down to crunch time. There is no cost to be in the book, only cost is if you want a book after publishing, no requirement however.

Thanks, Cory

Where is the car located? If it's close to any of us someone may be willing to go look at and give you a 1st hand opinion.

Hillbilly,
Great family of people here! Give us some more info and we will help you. What a huge tribute to your Dad to step up and purchase this car. He is smiling down at you from heaven above! I bet it is worth every dollar you paid for it and more! Let us help you make this car everything your Dad wanted it to be and ease your pain for this huge loss.

What is your question about the VIN on the passenger side of the dash? Are you asking whether or not it should be there?

That is correct, having the VIN plate at that location. What is the VIN # ? And what are the numbers/letters on the driver's door plate? They will provide a LOT of info pertaining to your car.

Sweeeet!! $11K ? Count your blessings. All I see missing are the fog lights. That car can be a local carshow winner, and even do quite well in MCA Driven class, as-is. And the sentimental value is a BIG plus. Congratulations.

Neil

PS:
I notice that the VIN is not in our registry. You might want to go to that area on the main page, and select to register the car.

And Tim knows his GT/CS's,,,,he has a large corral of them,,,,,

Thanks Marion :) but I don't know anything that wasn't known here first. I do know some pretty great people since being here! ...and I know you have to be careful what you wish for! If only we could get time to remain still, so we can fit it all in.

I also know I've never made as good of a "deal" as "hillbilly" seemed to ;-)
