I was going to restore the trunk of the car, just the floor. The sides and fender wells are sprayed the color of the outside of the car. What was the floor and small side wells sprayed?

Same color as body

The car was painted at one time inside and out. The Fuel tank was added during assembly which was galvanized. All other surfaces were body color.

There was/were also a trunk wheel well tray that sits on the driver side of trunk which covers the wheel well (or lower 1/4 area) which is held on by the center section of the joined inner and outer wheel well. Be careful as you need to slide the tray under the wheel well crease without tearing/distorting to where it renders the lining useless.

Quick side note/question:
Did early 68's come with plaid liners, and later cars, with the speckled pads? Or is this just a illusion? (ergo; did all 68's come with plaid, or what is the difference?) I've "semi-researched", but came up short, as I have never restored a "late" 68' and honestly don't know?

I notice in several parts catalogs, that you can order the deluxe "correct style thicker mats," in either plaid or speckled.... I only thought that 67's got such separated plaid treatment ( is this different from 64-66?) So what about 68's?

Many of the San Jose 68s had plaid mats. I am not sure of any change over date. I consider both to be correct in a San Jose car. The plaid mat must have stiched corners to be correct.
