seems like a simple device but cant seem to figure it out. the pump wants to suck and pump in both directions. it would appear that there needs to be a check valve in line or something. i did notice what looks like some type of check ball in the white plastic fitting that screws into the black pump ball. this was in the line going to the wndshield. i tried to clean it out with water and a little air but didnt try to extract it until i got a little smarter. i would think there should be check valves on both lines. what am i missing?

Yes you are correct about the ball checks. It is hard to find parts for them. It is easer to find a different pump. Marty

Thank you for the offer. im not giving up yet. I flushed it out appears to be a small brass ball in each port. but still doesnt seem to work real well. does anybody know if anybody sells the white plastic hosing. see lots of places selling the black rubber ball. i also see someone selling the whole pump on ebay but no insurance it is in any better condition than mine.

I was just cleaning mine up the other day. I haven't found a the white plastic part online anywhere.

Does that part simply screw off? I'm afraid to wrench on mine too hard for fear of breaking one of the nipples off.

mine came off real easy i used a large adjustable wrench ( i know cant believe i admitted that) perpendicular to the rear face. There is a rubber "O" ring that seals it to the rubber bulb. pretty simple design actually. i did go ahead an purchase a used one from West coast cougar. because it was clear my check valves were in pretty bad shape. also used the time to clean the internal contacts on the electrical switch that is attached to the pump

My buddy, had his high school friends convinced that his wipers were voice activated.
