    1968 Coolant overflow issues

Steve's suggestion is where I would start. Timing maybe, but if the car is running in "normal" range, then the timing is most likely not the issue... I would change the oil as the hi-temp most likely damaged the oil and you could see more wear due to the damaged oil - and depending on how long...

    1968 HCS count

I am with Arlie on this one...I probably would have used the analogy "you can never know how many cups of water are in the ocean"...the ocean is always expanding and contracting depending on ice pack, evaporation,etc...a pc of string is finite and doesn't change once cut and can only get smaller...

For Sale 1968 GT/CS For Sale on Vancouver Island, BC

Looks like a pretty descent "back to original" restoration. $35K is a bit high though (for the US - maybe not Canada), just my opinion.

    1968 Water Pump

Yeah - it doesn't look original. The original will have the FOMOCO on the front. Here are a few photos of the two different styles I have - the early C5 part only has 3 gussets and the C6 has 5. I am not sure, but I believe that the C6 is correct for all the 68 289/302's

    1968 plate under carb

a 4V spacer will not work for a 2V intake manifold as there are no provisions for the two rear mounting studs in the 2V. I have one from 72 302 2V that I just stripped down. PM if you want it.

    1968 Numbers matching question

I think Jeff gives a good base to set expectations when dealing with others - especially those trying to sell...My general experience leads me to believe that most use "numbers matching" to convey that the original tranny and engine are in the car and most if not all of the original sheetmetal -...

    1968 Cylinder Head Casting Number

I would go with the 66 289 heads. They are the next best combustion chamber size to the 302 4V j-code heads which had a 53.5cc. The 66 289's are a 54.5cc chamber - this head was used on both 2v and 4v. In 68 they went to a larger chamber on the 302 2v heads (lower compression). The valves, if...

    For Sale 68 J-code intake

Hey guys, I have a 68 J-code intake date coded Jan 31 68. I was going to use it on my current build but changed my mind on the build. I would sell it for $100 (what I paid for it), but had it tanked and blasted by the machine shop - they charged $50 so I am in it $150. It is not painted, but...
