    1968 Taillight housing restoration

VHT Expoxy Chrome Paint SP-525-1A Before Pre-paint prep, media blasted (I did find black paint was used under the original "chrome" maybe a predecessor of today's Alsa type chrome paints which also require black as a base?) Now ... and my helper...

1968 Electrical problem when I press brakes, lights go off & on

Just did my 68 S GT coupe and it was clipped to a bracket behind the instrument cluster. When you remove the cluster there are two uprights, it was behind the one on the left, flasher clips in wires up. Very poor location with difficult access!

    1968 new headlight switch question

Nice that it bolts-in, no cutting.... gonna order a couple, as the common solution here involves hacking... I hate cutting anything!

    1968 Trunk wiring

That was my question. In looking at the wiring it appeared added-on, I thought it probably should go in the trunk lid as on the standard install.

    1968 Taillight housing restoration

I'm leaning to chrome paint, the VHT Expoxy I have is a very good finish. Was more a curiosty question. I don't think its the vacuum deposition process as that does the whole part, this is masked, does not make sense to mask and then cover the masking with chrome to throw away? As the vacuum...

    1968 Taillight housing restoration

In the GT/CS book it notes these were chrome plated. In looking at a pair I'm working on (Shelby, second set to play with before disassembling the GT/CS) it sure looks sprayed on to me... On mine its pretty evident that there was a mask, as the edge outside the lamp housings areas has...

    1968 Trunk wiring

Robert, Yeah, I figured out the ground after posting, I was looking for a separate add-on... No clue why someone would have dont the wo wires, they were just lying under the pad. Odd... and no hitch! On the soldering, a question. Every time I try to solder I end up wanting to stab someone...

    1968 Trunk wiring

Saw to old post on taillight wiring/ground and started looking at the repair. In the trunk I found two wires spliced into the taillight harness. See below. the wires do not apper original and as they terminates at cut ends I can't figure out what they would have been used for... any...

    1968 california special

IMO a GT will pull a bit more than a similar GT/CS... As a C code, $17-22 seems a bit high, unless its perfect (e.g. investing far more, even doing a lot of the work yourself), saw a few a year or so ago in the 12-16 range in very good condition, can't believe the market is going up under...

    1968 Tail light panel sealer?

The photos are a supposed OEM 68 Shelby. The wiring has correct numbers, as do the buckets. The sealer was very, very hard... There is evidence of the sealer across the entire top edge, but only in places on the lower... Drop by anytime!
