Dead link, anyone got a copy?

Yep. Thus the pics of 67's don't do much good for a GT/CS!

    1968 Bad Idea?

LOL! Yeah, sorry, I meant on the plate, not in the ad! And actually, as an engineer, I kinda like the coil mount, helps prevent the common overheating issue by keeping it away from the block!

    1968 Hood Stripes...

Original stripes should feather on the cowl, as it was just overspray from the mask with the hood shut. +1 on body or black grilles, never seen argent on an original...

What I think are OEM 68's, believe 67's are slightly different due to the change in strut rod, not sure of any other design changes that may apply...

1968 Painting doors and hinges help

All I've seen indicates they were on the car when painted. The few I've pulled apart only had rust there!

    1968 Hood Stripes...

AFAIK all the way to the glass, but not down the cowl from the factory they were masked and sprayed on the hood with it on the car. Hard to spray the cowl with the hood on... MCA gold judges advised me grilles were black. I did mine and stopped them at the rubber seal on my non GT/CS. Though...

    1968 Bad Idea?

As it clearly states "Not For Title or Registraion", which most DMV types ignore, not sure why it would be illegal. I just got a 68 door for mine, discovered the drivers is a 67, and it came with a tag. Most folks not in-the-know, would probably remove the entire door and replace the lot. As...

1968 Electrical problem when I press brakes, lights go off & on

Aslo... was thinking some of the LEDS might look odd as many are diectional, reducing the spread of light from the reflectors? Incandecents send ligth everywhere, some LED only away from the bulb (to some extent, its not a laser!) Again, any experiences, as the little suckers aren't cheap and...

1968 Electrical problem when I press brakes, lights go off & on

NPD and most vendors now sell 'em too... I see a few variants of the 1157 in the NPD catalog, 30 or 12 diodes, 1" dia, 24 @ 1 3/4" dia and 36 @ 2 3/16" dia.... anyone done any comparison?

    1968 Soldering grounds

Hmm... a few other posts here and elsewhere talk about how poor the ground thru pot metal is... so I figured bypassing and going direct from the socket to ground would help. The sockets have plenty of exposed area above the reflector to add a wire, was going to tape it into the harness and bond...

    1968 Soldering grounds

OK. Tried to add the ground wires to a spare taillight harness I have before taking the real one out of the car. A few tips in other threads, decided to start a new one. The solder refuses to stick to the brass. Flux core, silver solder. I tried: - steel wool housing, new wire. Splay the...

    1968 AC vacuum line routing

Ok, so you were referring to the actual duct at that location (found the hole, will fabricate a support as I could not find any used ones, hard-to-find item). I thought you were referring to the vaucum hoses.

    1968 AC vacuum line routing

Are you sure about the routing? I double checked the FAM and vacuum schematic, both clearly show it dotted line behind the two inst cluster supports. I know they are not gospel, and variations do exist, I was just concerned about them interfereing with the cluster in the front position as...

    1968 AC vacuum line routing

Figured I'd start a new thread, instead of splinter the other one. Hole on the left? Or do you mean the one above the clip on the harness on the right one below?

1968 Electrical problem when I press brakes, lights go off & on

Too easy on the pics, snap a few, upload, post... happy to help. I have been trying to find the right routing for the hoses, the FAM and vacuum diagram schematics are different... thanks for the tip... any pics?
