CS Project for $3,500 in Georgia

I asked the seller if he had a Marti to confirm it's authentic. He indicated he ordered one today and will post it later.

The Shelby wheels are popular and would be a period correct accessory I believe. A new or repro steering wheel or even a Shelby one would have been nice. Are you sure about the stripe? The pictures show a stripe on the trunk (White)...

CS Project for $3,500 in Georgia

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Mustang-California-Special_W0QQitemZ290198791853QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item290198791853 No Marti mentioned. The scoop area shouldn't be cut all the way through should it? I thought just a bolt held it on. Hard to say why it's like that due to the extent of...

Interesting enough, there is a long way to go but that CS that went for $40,000 is the 3rd highest Mustang sold so far. 418.1 1978 FORD MUSTANG CUSTOM DRAG CAR "DYNO DON" 82000.00 80 1965 FORD MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE 62000.00 420 1968 FORD MUSTANG CALIFORNIA SPECIAL COUPE 40000.00 60...

You're right Joe and RedGt ... I missed that one. I don't think they would try to bid to win but to drive the price up. If they did win they're out the commissions. Not sure how many people would actually do it but on a big dollar car it could be worth it. If someone was transporting a few...

CS "X" code just sold 17K Barrett Jackson

According to the BJ site the 390 went for $18,000 plus commision and a 289 yesterday went for $17,500. A 302 went for $40,000 today (almost $10,000 less than it sold at BJ for in 2006) see this thread... we've been discussing them here...

I think part of it is people betting with their "hearts" and the other part is it's a no reserve auction so it's going to sell no matter how low. Also - if the buyer really wants, they can bet on their own car to raise the selling price so they don't lose money on it. If the buyer is into a...

All valid points Tim! I agree. There definitely was dirt in the engine. I don't know if it's the picture but the passenger side valve cover looks like it has a layer of dust on it but maybe it's just a reflection. Just a clean up could possibly have added to the price but the $18,000 was low...

Was this one on TV? I am recording it on my DVR to watch later. I think they're replaying it at midnight too.

Looks like the 390 went for only $18,000 according to the Barrett Jackson site. That's a surprise to me. Looks like someone stole a car there - again it's hard to know without seeing actual condition of the car. Lot 368...

Looking for GT/CS cars in Wa for Roundup

I assume the 68's and the 07/08's would not be in the same class. So they might be looking for 8 from from 68 60's and 8 from 07/08. Good Luck!

    Barrett Jackson cars

My first thought was someone got a pretty good deal as the first CS (Lot 30) went for $17,500. But when you add in the 10% commision the buyer paid $19,250 which is probably a little closer to what a 289 in that condition (based on the pictures and description) is currently selling at. The...

The 3 CS cars on the block this year are Lot 30, 368 and 420. The first one should go on Tuesday and the other 2 on Wed. Here are links to the cars. Curious to see how they do Lot 30: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/search/carlist_Details.aspx?&In_LotNumber=30 Lot 368...

OK OK I can take a hint! I scanned it tonight - couldn't make you wait any longer. Here you go - also there is the page of the license plate feature with the HCS plate. Is that HCS_Stangs plate? It has Casey's frame on it I don't see the article on the boxing gloves...

And you got into a Collector's Edition according to the cover! I assume it's for your car and not for the 08 Bullitt feature right? I'll try to scan it in for you tomorrow. Also - There is a feature in there this month called "A Year of License Plates" or something similar. It's a...
