Did California provide both front and back black plates? I got the original black plate with my 289 (confirmed by the original pink slip) but I only got one. I'm curious to try and peel off the pile of stickers on it but know it will ruin them so I'm leaving it with the latest showing 1986...

Come to think of it I might have ordered the whole lens with the center piece but it looks like page 12 might have the center piece and page 14 the lens with the piece in the 2007 catalog. I attached the pieces.

I'm pretty sure NPD has these. I ordered a set for my CS and I think they have them individually as well.

I wonder if the owner had an Elite Marti Report displayed which broke it down to 1 of 1 for something, but not the color. Option combination, etc ...

Note that it seems they even are questioning the number of 3,159 since that's less than one per dealer. It sounds like Paul will have the numbers in the book.

On the car show hood/trunk topic... I usually keep the trunk closed and raise the hood just enough to see what's under it but not too high that you can't see the hood pins It's great to watch people when they realize it's something different and try to figure out what it is.

I remember reading that original article. To this day when I see an older, Hearse, ambulance, etc, that would probably be part of the Professional Car Society at a show or museum or on the road, I think back to this article. I found it very interesting.

They are round, black with white lettering that says Fog across the top and Lamp across the bottom. They popup on eBay now and then and I think there are repos available. Here you go - found one...

There is no outer ring on them right? I did see them for sale someplace. It might have been Virginia Mustang but not sure right now. The only thing we noticed on mine is that the wrong lug nuts were put on and started to cause some wear on the wheels, so switched them to the correct style...
