Oops, sorry, I forgot I owned Bob Mannel's bible. It says 289s had the large valves and 302s had the tubes, so the setups in both photos are correct for those particular engines.

Received my books today from Branda. Very pretty and a lot of color photos but nothing earth shattering. In fact most of it was in the first book, except for the late model stuff, which I didn't read.

The Marti will note the hood stripes if they were factory installed. The paint code on the data plate will also show a 5 after the base paint color. For example, I5 would be lime gold with black hood stripes. Not sure about the vinyl top color.

Is this a correct smog tube for a '68 J-code (photo on left)? My '68 C-code just had a big blue valve at the rear, but no tube (photo on right).

Today I looked at a J-code GT/CS. The Marti states that is has the GT equipment and it has the 3.00 equi-loc gears as a "stock" order. Would that be an 8" or 9" rear end? The Marti is a mile long on this car but going from memory it also has: Wide ratio 4-speed PDB PS Deluxe interior Argent...

This has been bugging me so I finally have to ask; Why is the GT/CS on the cover so far to the right, and not centered? Is it supposed to be an artistic thing?

A photo gallery is not a post, it's the 3rd red item on the left of the screen that says, "Photo Gallery". I'm pretty sure people can make a gallery there without any post counts, but I won't swear to it..

Did you notice the more subtle nuances? Check out the horse emblem and where the side marker light is placed. And, of course, the duct tape holding the fan shroud together.
