Lack of CSs at car shows

I heard that Georgia and some other Southern states get their fuel almost exclusively from the Gulf Coast refineries that are now shut down. Don't know if it's true but it might explain the $5.00 per gallon prices.

    Wrecked R-code Fastback on eBay

Here is a wrecked R-code fastback. It seems it was wrecked when racing. The owner also states, and I quote, "the disk brakes were changed to drums for weight savings". :o I'm not a racing expert but it seems to me that the advantages of disk brakes would far outweigh the added unsprung...

Lack of CSs at car shows

...and don't forget how our current president and all his Enron buddies and Haliburton buddies made all their money.

    Talk about Sticker Shock!!!!

With the price of gasoline going through the roof we may probably assume that high mpg cars will sell well for the next few years. And since higher mpg will probably equate to lower hp will the demand for older big blocks increase or decrease? I think demand, and prices, will increase when the...

    Another one bites the dust

It'd be nice to get the VIN from this car into the registry before it is crushed or totally parted out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Shelby-Mustang-Conv-GT-CS-OEM-Fiberglass_W0QQitemZ4571465088QQcategoryZ10076QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Safety first

There was a recall in 1978 for the seat hinges but I doubt very many people had the hinges changed. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell by looking at the hinges whether they are original or the beefier replacements?

    Headliner Installation Tricks

There is a special tool for removing the trim. If the trim has never been removed you are in for quite a battle. It's difficult to find the clips through the 40 years of dirt that accumulates around them.

Real or Fake California Special ? ? Help

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I think I spoke more from ignorance than fact. Doesn't the Marti report have some sort of metalic looking security sticker on it?

Have you checked your gas mileage

I wonder what a kind of mileage we'd get with a modern V-6 (Maybe a Nissan) that pumps out 285 net hp and modern manualmatic? ;D

Real or Fake California Special ? ? Help

I totally agree with you Rhonda. It would be childsplay to fake a Marti report by scanning a real one and changing it to read whatever someone wanted. As great as computers are they often used for evil.

    Stolen air filter!

Another option to the hood lock issue is to remove the hood release handle and hook the latch to a cable then to a release lever. I think a remote trunk release was an option in '68 so the lever should not look out of place.

    concorse knowledge needed, anyone?

Rhonda, I would certainly agree with you since I grew up with a horrible stuttering problem but I'm pretty sure Herck is just being lazy. He is using e-language, which is ok for people sending text messages to each other via a BlackBerry or cell phone, or a chat room filled with 14 year olds...
