The guy is honest with his pictures. The first ones look great! Then, we find that beauty is only skin deep. The metal work on this will cost a pretty penny. It looks like both torque boxes are gone (and the inside of the rails are probably bad too), and the floors are gone. I just did the torque box and rails on one side of my 66 convertible, plus some work on the back inner wheel wells and it cost me $4500. I would expect this to run >$10,000 to put the metal back right on this one (torque boxes are a must on convertibles or the body could crack). A redo on the interior for a few grand, and a new top (white please). And then there is the drivetrain? Looks like he started top down on this one, instead of bottom up. Casey

It does seem strange to spend that kind of money on an Eleanor kit and have it installed on a questinable chasis. Those kits are not cheap. Aren't the parts alone around $5,000 or so?

Maybe the owner never looked under the car or maybe he's inexperienced at this sort of thing and just learned a good lesson the hard way. Either way it could still be a bargain for someone with a welder and some time.

There must be some wise old saying about benefiting from the folly of others.

Out of site out of mind comes to mind on this one. Overspray on exhaust, no paint on the lower portions of the body parts.
What a waste of $$. I just can't fathom doing a half a.s job like that.
It makes you wonder if it wasn't done just to sell it to some poor sucker.

I agree. I think they had the idea of making it look fancy for some sucker and its nothing but a rust bucket underneath. ::) Heck, I would have bought it, before I found this site. :) Rhonda

You gotta admit the guy is being honest. I mean if somebody can't look at those photo's and and see what they are buying. They need their head examined. Myself, based on the photo's I wouldn't be putting up that kinda money.

Don
