I posted this back in December when Casey was buying up the blueprints on ebay: http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?p=47703#post47703 Casey, I also appreciate your acquiring this history for us GT/CS and HCS enthusiasts. Thanks very much. Not sure it has been previously...

Should I charge $$ to join the GT/CS Registry?

I'd be much more inclined to pay a fee to support this website than for the registry. I participate on a C2 Corvette site, a Cadillac CTS site, and a Mazdaspeed site. They all have fee based forums (along with free usage). Jon, you have done an incredible job providing this forum for us...

    Drag racing your 07-08 GT/CS?

I took my '68 HCS out racing last night. A friend of one of our club members brought out his 07 GT for the 1st time. Well his car was stock except for a whipple supercharger (pretty significant addition). Amazingly he ran 13.3 on his first run, 13.0 on his second, and 12.8 on his...

ZDDP is it in your oil ?

This has me pretty interested as I have about 600 miles on my rebuild and have been using Rotella T. I emailed Shell and asked about ZDDP and their Rotella Diesel oil. Here is their reply: David, Rotella T with Triple Protection 15W-40 CJ-4 has approximately 1200 ppm zinc anti-wear. This is...

ZDDP is it in your oil ?

Quick search on ZDDP found this: http://www.ttalk.info/Zddp.htm Sounds like you might have been given good advice! My engine tuner recommends Rotella T (Shell). Searching again on the internet, found out it is a diesel oil and contains ZDDP. Now I know why he changed my oil when he worked...

Which to choose: 1968 GT/CS or HCS?

That is a good determining item. No only which do you like better, which looks better with the color of the car. While HCS are rarer, the GT/CS seems to be valued higher (per NADA). Personally, I like the uniqueness of the HCS and telling people they only made 251 of them. david

    Need help converting track times

I have a 68 HCS dressed up as a GT/CS. The stripe tape kit comes with the GT/CS tape cut outs. I only have one set up HCS decals and want to save them for when I repaint the car. It is a J code car, but have pulled the 302 and installed a 351W bored and stroked to 393CI. I am impressed with...

    Need help converting track times

Wayne, Here are the results of all my races, broken out by the key stages. Your 60' times are somewhat similar to mine over my last few races. I think 1/8mile is about 660 feet, so no direct comparison to 500 feet times. Also, I am way above sea level. Not sure this has an impact on our...

    385hp 302GT40 Engine For Sale

Time slips attached from last weeks runs. Bandimere speedway is 5,860 feet above sea level. I have heard people say to take 1 second off your ET's for the altitude. Seems to be fairly consistent with the conversion table I found located at: http://www.wallaceracing.com/altitudecorrection.htm...

    385hp 302GT40 Engine For Sale

Here is the info from the build sheet. Don't believe the desktop Dyno numbers. My best guess...Maybe 400 HP, 300-325HP range at the rear wheels. Will be changing the ignition (Performance Distributors DUI) and larger exhaust sometime soon, then will have it dyno'd. I went with these guys...

    385hp 302GT40 Engine For Sale

Just figured out that this outfit is the same one that I purchased my 393 stroker from. I was very concerned about purchasing a crate engine from a company that was not local (I am in Colorado, they are in Indiana). But after getting references and seeing their prices, I went for it. First...

Bob's Car March 2004 Mustang Monthly

Bob also had an article on his HCS's published in the March 10, 1997 edition of Mustangs Monthly. Pages 76-79. It features a C code he owned but also mentions his "recently acquired" 428 Cobra Jet High Country Special that one of his sons coaxed out of hiding. The scanner on my printer is not...

    351w Head Suggestion

Jamie, I am running full length headers...Hooker Super Competition. They have two piece construction (into the collector tube), makes for easier installation, but can be prone to leaks and rattles if not properly sealed. Other than my PS systems is leaking all over the place, I did not have...
