    Opinions on Car Covers

I'm not much into "catch and release", especially when the little boogers set up camp in the cowl vent!! I say that if they want to mess with my Mustangs, they had better be "on guard". Russ

    Opinions on Car Covers

I think the car covers offered by California Car Cover are superior to anything I have found. I keep my cars in a garage, and they are always covered until they are driven or started. I think the breathable covers are the best. Regarding keeping a window cracked.........here is my story. My...

    GT/SC lime gold painted

Gary, I also have a lime gold CS that I'm restoring. Mine has the black (code 2A) standard interior, but they also came in other interior colors (ivy green, parchment, etc). If yours is black, I can tell you that the dash and steering column is painted black metallic, and the door panels are...

Who is going to the Knott's Berry Farm Fabulous Ford show

My wife and I are planning to take the Highland Green GT/CS to the show. Hope to see many of the GT/CS folks in Buena Park. Russ

GT/CS at Barrett Jackson Lot 9040

I just got back from the B-J auction, and I checked out this car. The Pavillion is like a used car lot where the owners post a price on the car, and the listed price is $24,900. The car looks like a straight car with nice paint (the color appeared to be too dark for "T" red), a 289, no console...

    Update on GT/CS being auctioned

My Highland Green CS was built on February 14 and was a "basic-off standard" order also. This type of order was initiated by Ford so that special models were available to the dealers at the time of the car's introduction. Ford determined the options, colors and interiors and then made them...

    Roof Insulation in Mustang

Every 1968 Mustang I have seen has fiberglass insulation glued to the roof. It is generally 3/4" thick and is cut in panels that allow the headliner bows to fit in place. No asbestos, but I would wear a dust mask. Hope this help, Russ

    Mustang/Shelby/Cobra

I have also visited Telstar Motors and was impressed with the quality of their work. I guess they have a Mustang Museum there today. I visited there probably 15 years ago, and I'll never forget the 1965 Mustang convertible they were restoring for its original owner....it had NO floors at all...

    GT/CS Calendar Arrived Today

Jon, I received my calendar(s) today and, once again, you did a great job! I know they will be a hit with our website group, and others who enjoy our cars. One of my calendars is going to my son-in-law, who is stationed in Iraq. He is a Mustang nut and will enjoy the calendar while he is...

Book Question: Restomod info or no?

Paul, Its interesting that you bring up this topic, as Jim Smart, senior editor of "Mustangs and Fords", was visiting us in Flagstaff last week and we had a discussion about resto-mods. My take on your book is that you should report on the GT/CS, its history, available options from the...

    2007 GT/CS Mustang

I'm a true fanatic for the new Mustang GT, and if you have ever taken a drive in one with a five speed and 300 hp engine, you will come away impressed, to say the least. I have driven my son-in-law's 2005 GT, and the performance of this car is almost scarey. Now, add on the GT/CS package on...

    What was your first car?

My first car was a 1915 Model T Ford roadster. I still own it and drive it on Model T tours. My first real "driver" was a 1960 Austin Healy Sprite. Russ

2008 SAAC Convention: where is it?

Paul, My wife and I attended the SAAC event in Las Vegas this year and it was held in February. The weather was great and we had a great time. Carroll Shelby was at the Friday night dinner, where he handed over the keys to a lucky winner of a new Cobra!!! There was open track at Las Vegas motor...

Hi Paul, I'm going to post the two Marti Reports on my two Specials. I don't know if you want/or have any phots of the cars, but I would be glad to email them to you. Do you desire to have "hard copies" of the Marti Reports and photos, or will email do as well? Thanks for all you do, Russ

    New Purchase - CJ Mustang

Rich, I had purchased the wheels for my 1968 GT a few years ago, but I think they fit better on the convertible. The wheels are original (not the repros) American Racing Equipment torque thrust, 14X7" with a 1/2" positive offset. The tires are 235/60X14 T/A's. The original convertible wheels...

Does your CS/HCS have a pet name?

Donna, All of my antique cars have names....I guess I like to personalize each of them. My Highland green CS is named "Cali" after a blond actress, my GT is named "Trudy Jean" after her original owner and my "new" 73 convertible is named "Babbitt" after it original owner. All of my Model T's...
