Could just be missing correct pieces--still might be a HCS. I once put the front end of a '66 together with all '65 stuff that I had laying around. A lot happens in 40 years and they pass thru many hands in the process...

Before weighing in, I'd like to know more about the black car. What are the options? Since there is no Marti posted, is it a J code, C code, or an original 6-cylinder car? It has the deluxe interior but no console, what should it have? The radiator doesn't have the pinch clamp as it should...

I take a couple of my vintage Mustangs on long-distance trips all the time. The only difference is, I "know" the cars and either do the maintenance myself, or take them to a mechanic if something is beyond my capabilities. If you "know" the Mustang, I don't think it's any more danger to take...
