No, this is a nice solid, strong-running car. I drove it all over the place w/o any problems what-so-ever. In my opinion, $18K is high, tho, as it needs a fair amount of work (and $) to be correct again. It just depends upon what you're into, I guess.

He reinstalled the rear marker lights and changed the valve covers, but otherwise it looks the same. For that price, he's dreaming.

Nope, the holes for the mounts have been filled (you can see this on the inside of the trunk). No metal work has been done that I can tell and the quarters are original. The same car (mine) was discussed in this thread when I had on eBay a few weeks back...

Personally, I think this is a good looking car for not a bad price, but I'm into green. He might be near/at the $22K mark right now if he'd started the auction out at $100, with a reserve of $22K. Seems like bidders/buyers are always leary of auctions like this--no reserve and a "reasonable"...
