I saw this Vicari auction episode today on Racer. Only once, did the auctioneer describe it as GT/CS "trim" which probably went unnoticed. I didn't hear it referred to as a tribute car either. The announcer constantly spewed how rare it was and there were only 4118 1968 California Specials produced, of which 250 were HCS. The interior looked tired. I can't believe the bidding got up to 40k..... and didn't meet the reserve.

It would have been a nice idea to make some verts. I'm pretty sure that topic has been exhausted and none found to be real. Arlie???

I suppose it's possible that someone took an original GT/CS and converted it.

I found the old listing on their website. It was just listed as a 1968 Mustang. It doesn't state that it's a real GT/CS, as we know they never produced one in a convertible. It is also interesting to note that they did not list the VIN. Very shady. I doubt anyone would go to all of the trouble and expense to "transition" a coupe to a convertible, but these days, nothing surprises me.
