Car is finally done and running. Took it to my 1st show yesterday with the new 428CJ and boy did it draw a crowd. I was looking at other cars and heard a couple guys comment - "Did you see that Mustang with the 428CJ, man is it sweet". Everybody wanted to hear it run. I thought I was gonna get tired of talking to folks. They were amazed to learn that the CS came with engines ranging from the six to the 428. It's a great feeling to have it back on the road again. The difference between the 390 and 428 is like night and day. Now I just have to learn to keep my foot out of the carb. :grin:

Don, SWEET! You now make me feel like I have a sewing machine under my hood with a 289. I have never driven a big block car (390 or 428). I can only imagine.....Casey

Casey, I was spoiled from the get go as my first experience driving a Mustang was mine with a GT390. My wife however had her first experience with one of Tims GT/CSs with the small block. She thought that was great, until she drove his GT390 GT/CS. She was so impressed she went out and found a 428PI engine, so when we find a suitable doner Mustang, She wants the 428 installed, of course with a 4 speed. Mike

Don,

Did the motor fit under the stock hood or did you have to put in some kind of scoop?

Joe;
Motor fits under the stock hood. Had to change intakes. Didn't use the Torker as I planned but, went with an RPM Performer. Factory air bucket won't fit but, I don't plan on using that anyway.

I don't know about you but I have a physical handicap and was born with my right foot weighing more than my left (still waiting for a cop to believe me). Good luck!

Just got home from a cruise so thought I'd better take some pictures now or I may never get them done. I also included a shot of where we removed the power booster and cleaned up that area to allow easy access to the back plugs. Sorry it took so long. I've been figuring out my gas milage for the past 5 days - not good - about 8 miles a gallon. But, man is it fun.

Don :grin:

Don: Nice job and it looks great. Makes my little 302 look like a lawn mower engine. Did you add a bigger radiator for cooling? Bet changing those plugs are knuckle busters!!!!

Steve;
Actually the plugs are pretty easy to get to now since we removed the Brake Power Booster and went with manual disc. With that power booster gone it really cleaned up that area. Used my stock radiator I had with the 390 and so far no problems. Am using a 180 degree thermostat and she runs right around 190 - 200 in traffic.
