Sept 1-5, the International Mustang Meet will be held in Spokane, Wa., which is just across the border from me. Here's a link to the local club hosting it and info on it. http://www.inlandempiremustangclub.com/ My question for all of you is this: Would you like me to put on a CS get together during the meet? It could be the day before, during, whatever. Something like a Bar-B-Q, or go out to dinner at a local spot (Hot Rod Cafe would be fun), or just get together to BS and have a cold one. I'm about 40 mles from the host hotel and could probably find a good deal for a night if everyone wants to come here the day before and then head over on Fri. I wanted to throw this out and let everyone think about it. I'm flexible and if everyone just wants to hang out at the show, I'm up for that as well.

Steve;
I am already registered at the host hotel for Fri to Mon. and I imagine some other GT/CS's are as well.
Fri is a kegger social, Sun is the banquet, making Saturday the best night to get together after the Show and Shine. These shows are a real social event, and we should all be parked together on the Saturday, so easy to mingle. I was planning to get to Bonners Ferry on the Thursday and short trip on Friday into show site, I imagine I could make Post Falls on the Thurs, can't be much more than another hour.
I'm sure some others from my area can also be convinced????

I'm for it.

I have already pre-registered for the show - Stock 68 California Special. I will be arriving on Thursday and staying at a different hotel - Wingate by Wyndham which is about two miles away from the host hotel. And as Northern Pony stated, we should be fairly close together whether stock or modified, although I have been at a couple IMM shows where the Modifieds were in a separate area - but even that is workable. I know the 68 GT/CSs are grouped together (Stock or Modified) but I believe the newer ones are in their year(s). I know they have a lot of activities going on Sunday - cruise, poker run, auto-cross - so I agree with Northern Pony, Saturday may be the best night; however there is also a BBQ at the Host Hotel ($12.00.) We can discuss options here and finalize (if necessary) at the Kegger. Maybe those of us who get there and teched by Friday mid-day could take a cruise on our own with rvrtrash leading the way????!!!!

I'm registered at the host casino too. A Cal Special get together sounds like a great idea -I like the sound of the Hot Rod Cafe!!

Man I gotta get this car completed! Hate to have to bring the 67 coupe.

We are going to try and get to Spokane on Friday in time for the kegger, leaving from Calgary.

We will have a couple of GT/CS heading to Spokane on Thursday from Calgary. We can caravan together if you would like to leave a day earlier.

That might work - we are going to leave the car in Calgary while we do a camping trip down to Glacier/Waterton. Don't want to miss the kegger eh!

Gary;
if you have your Ct/Cs finished, I have a garage you can put it in when you go down to Glacier/Waterton.

When I type in the group info & password at host hotel, it says no rooms avail. When I try to make reservations as normal person, it says no rooms avail. Did they fill up that quickly?

Steve, this Red Lion is $140/night with my AAA discount. Anything out there under $100/night?

There is a Hilton Garden Inn across the highway.

The host club is negotiating for track time at Spokane International Raceway.

MotorSports: Should your taste lean more towards running your pony through its paces, we are making plans for
you. Spokane County Raceway is located adjacent to Northern Quest Resort and features an NHRA drag strip plus
a 2.5 mile road course (See aerial photo on page 4). We are in the early stages of negotiations with the managers
of the facility to include Mustang events in their calendar. We are also in contact with Autosports Northwest to bring
about an autocross event. While these events are still in the planning process, we anticipate offering several fun
motorsports events.

Amy;
The Host hotel seems to release rooms as they are necessary, not sure why they are doing it this way????????
I phoned for a reservation, was advised I was on a wait list, and got a call the next morning that I had a room.
Be sure to mention Mustang International.

Amy, how close do you want to be to the meet? All in all, Airway Heights is kind of a rundown area, with just a little new development, so you have kind of spendy or kind of dumpy. Downtown Spokane, which is the next major area with lodging, is like any downtown district, with lots of one-way streets and traffic. Further out is Spokane Valley, which is a mixed bag and then across the state line is Post Falls, where I live (figure 40 miles from the meet). PM me with what you're comfortable with and how close you want to be and I'll do the leg work to find something for you. Same offer for everyone, by the way.

The host hotel is sold out - that is pretty typical for this event.

Thanks for the offer BoB - we can sort all that out as we get closer. In the meantime I better get cracking on putting the car back together!
