Last week i was driving to CSUN in the mustang and i spotted the one GTCS i've seen a few times driving around the valley parked on a side street! So i turned around and parked along side it and took some interesting pictures...what do you guys think?

A couple things i've noticed
1. the gas cap is set in from the tail light panel
2. The pedestals for the foglamps are taller than mine
3. Sure is a nice lookin car

Questions:
1. Whats the deal with the pedestals differences?
2. What color is that?
3. Anyone know the lady who drives it?

1. If it was the correct pop-off gas cap it wouldn't be inset.

1. Her pedestals are correct. You have Shelby pedestals under your lights.

2. Color is hard to tell (used your phone didn't you?) but it looks sort of like Gulfstream Aqua.

Shelby eh? How much more are they worth?
Re: the color...it isnt Jason's Gulfstream Aqua color...what other greens are there beside Highland Green, Lime Green that are factory colors?

Couple of questions:
1. If you look at the picture looking down the center between the two cars..you can really see how my wheels fill out the wheel wells well ha. What do you think?
2. Do you like the height of the shelby pedestals better than the CS pedestals?
3. Would a Judge at a carshow dock points for the shelby pedestals, do you think?
4. How much do the California Special type pedestals sell for?

Jason, i dont really know, but it was behind the grill.

The only other color I can think of would be Tahoe Turquoise.

Bob Teets sells the pedestals, nuts, and washers for $60 - $70 I think.

Personally, I like the correct GT/CS installation better. The lights are not centered in the grille using the Shelby hardware.

David;
To answer your question about points being deducted for your shelby type pedestals - An MCA judge would not deduct for them as long as you were in the street driven class or occassional driven glass. Go into the Concourse glass and yes you'd loose points. At a local show, no points lost since most shows I've attended judge on the quality, workmanship and how clean the car is.

I learned it just a couple months ago from someone else on this site. Wish I could remember who it was so he or she can get the credit.

David - your car is awesome. The look of both together is priceless. I didn't see it mentioned, but the blue car gas cap is the twist on type - to be correct it should be the pop-down type. This may be one reason it looks so inset into the panel. Casey

It's always interesting to find another GT/CS on the road. I used to "chase" cars down for the Registry long ago.

All of what you have, David is great, but I just wanted to point out (to everyone) that it would make me nervous to have my car, with license plate, (maybe in front of my house) shown on the internet. I know that it's perfectly legal, but it might make the owner feel a little bit like their privacy was compromised.

Please don't take this wrong--I don't want to affect your enthusiasm, but if anyone else photographs cars like this, you might consider blanking out the license plate as a courtesy. Some people don't care--others might. Just a simple word of advice.

Hey Paul: Is this just a courtesy or is there a privacy/security issue at stake? What is the danger with displaying license plates on the internet when they are readily visible in public? Am I missing something?

No, this is just as a courtesy--and my opinion. Lots of (questionable) people "lurk" on websites, and sometimes you have to be vigilant. As I understand it, this CS was located on the street, and photographed, with the owner not knowing. If it was at a car show, or with the owner knowing, then it's certainly not a problem.

I'm just expressing my opinion--nothing else. I'm just looking out for your guys.

It would have been nice if he could have gotten the vin number. Then it could have been looked up to see if its in the registry. Paul, do you think that would be an invasion of privacy? In a way I think it is, but then again not. I suppose if it was`nt posted on the internet it would be ok, right?

Ya..maybe the administrator could delete the rear shot showing the inset gas cap...because it clearly shows the plate....i did think twice before posting it...i almost didnt, but i wanted to show the gas cap...this is not the house where this car lives...i know for sure because i drive by there all the time...and yes i agree it would be courteous to blank out the plate...i just need to learn how to do it...do you use adobe photo shop? can you simply use windowns Paint???

Thank you Casey..."the look of two gtcs's together is priceless" i agree

David,

I think your car looks great also. I think the white tail light panel is very unique and a nice change from those who paint theirs argent to look like a Shelby.

I don't think I would call the small mounts like yours "Shelby" mounts. They are the standard Lucas mounts that come with the foglights from Lucas. They just happened to be used on the Shelby. Just watch some Ebay auctions and you'll see that mount.

Also, I don't know if anyone has pointed this out to you, I noticed that your driver's side script is reversed.

Re: my drivers side California Special Script...ya i know... i remember back when i had just had the car repainted and had not yet put on the scripts...i asked the owner of the body shop to have them put on...and it just wasnt put on correctly on that side...when i posted my picture for the calendar i made sure to use the side of the car that has the CS scripts in the correct location..the passenger side...thats just another one of those things that i will make sure is done right when i can afford to do a full exterior restoration.

Where is the Fab Fords show held?...i suppose i would go if it was close enough
