Curious to see what this goes for. The seller watched the BJ auction and look what he stated on one of his questions. OH BOY

I will be bidding on this car incase anyone wants to know.

Q: Good afternoon - I was curious if you are interested in selling the car outside of the auction? Thanks, David Mar-12-06
A: Thanks for your question David. In all fairness to all other bidders I can not sell it outside ebay. If it doesn't sell then all avenues are open, but the response has been great and I feel it will surely sell. This vehicle is a beautiful auto and a rare find. It will make someone a happy camper and at a great price. I'm sure you saw the one at the Barret-Jackson auction on TV that sold in the $40's, well this one is a better car and will increase in value over the years. The Shelbys will be in the $200,000.00 range and the CS/GT will be in the $100,000.00 range. The reserve price is a fraction of the value of this Mustang. ripper

I am going to list some issues I see with this car to maybe help others to see what I see. I am not saying everything I am listing is correct but things that would concern me as a buyer.

no belt on the ac compressor. this tells me at least $1000 or more to fix
parts missing on air cleaner (valve on side and should be a chrome lid)
S tube missing and I am sure the heat shield ($700 to replace)
heater bypassed? those red heater hoses seem like they are looped (heater core bad and a pain to replace)
"custom" fuel line stuff means to me it has been played with or poor job fixing something
"custom" AC wiring on top of compressor (another quickie repair)
looks like a new master cylinder cap (hopefully the brakes were fixed properly)
don't see the second AC hose to the passenger side of the firewall
on a positive note the snorkel seems to be correct
rear shocks leaking (poor maintenance?)
underside seems very wet all the way to the rear end which tells me a good oil leak (minimum $700-1000 to fix correctly).
rust issue as stated by seller tells me there is more rust (could be wrong on this as it is a Texas car and in a dry part of Texas)

will need some money to make it nice and correct but it is a 4 speed with AC.

So is this car a GT? There`s no GT gas cap. What`s with the badging on the glove compartment that says 390? Where did he get that from?

Rhonda;
The GT/CS didn't have the GT pop open gas cap. GT optioned cars came with the same pop open cap as the rest of the CS's. Although I have heard that several did make it out of the factory with GT pop open cap. This is a nice car but, it does have some issues. Maybe I saw it badley but, isn't that a whole cut in the drivers side door and what's up with the woodgrain dash and a hurst shifter (door's dont' have deluxe interior panels)? Just a few items. Like Jason said it will be interesting to see what this goes for. It's the first big block CS I've seen offered on ebay.

Yep, looks like someone added the woodgrain, but it's probably not a deluxe interior car. Jason, did you get the Marti report yet?

marti coming tonight.

talked with the owner here are my notes:

bought in 94 from someone in Houston
98k miles might be original
rebuilt engine/new exhaust/new carb
slight oil leak
brake work/booster replaced
original interior/new front seat covers
upper and lower consoles
ac not working/clutch rattling
painted and vinyl top 12 years ago
might be non original 4 speed transmission
floors nice

guy has owned it since 94, does not know a bunch about CS's or mustangs. Nice old guy who lives in a small town.

Nice looking car. I love the color combination. What about the tail light bezels? Black trim! (I'm big on spotting these since I've been properly educated on chrome vs black!). I'm still confused as to why so many supposed 'original' cars have black trim bezels??

probably because when they get the part in they think it is correct because there is nothing saying it is not correct.

So you can assume that all cars that have the black trim have had the bezels replaced?

Jason;
Maybe it's a small thing but, on that Marti Report I see again under Statistics it listed 4,118 with California Special but, he's missing 4,766 with GT Equipment Group. My Marti Report is just the opposite, I'm missing the 4,118 with California special but, have the 4,766 with GT Equipment Group. My car and his car are both produced the same month. Wonder why the difference in the two Marti Reports? It's really starting to bug me.

It would sure be nice if he would stay consistent with his reports. Kinda makes me wonder just how accurate they really are. I can't believe he compared his CS to the one that sold at BJ. The two cars are miles apart and I think everyone knows which direction I'm talking about. There is no comparison. I think the BJ car looked a lot better than this one (engine bay, undercarriage and interior).
