I am a Star Trek fan (NOT a "Trekkie") and have been bidding on some items in the sale. I have won 5 lots so far and hopefully a few more by Saturday. These items will make a interesting display at my office.

here are a few of the ones I have won (I wish they were anywhere close to the estimate but weren't).

Who else will admit they like Star Trek?

No insults intended towards Star Trek or you Jason, but you are a self-proclaimed member of the "More Money Than Brains Club". :icon_ecst

Jason,

You've clearly lost it entirely. Since you are no longer capable of making rational decisions, send me your cars (and the titles) for safe keeping.

I am working my way up to "Grand Master" in the MMTB club.

that one was kinda a impluse purchase. Hopefully I can figure out something that I can do with it in a tasteful manner.

Funny, I have been saying the same thing about you and your cars.

I think the only items that would interest me would be the ships, the beam me up remote or the phaser gun. Must be a generic Star Trek kind of guy.

the main ships have been going for $90k-120k. Some of the smaller one time useage ships went for $5000-$15000. Phasers have been going for $3000 and up.

I am a fan of Next Generation, Voyager and Deep Space Nine (which I liked the best). I never could get into Enterprise. Some of the stuff was kind of cool for an office (like the gold pressed latinum), but what would someone do with Data's arm?

I used to watch the old Star Trek series from the 1960`s. I never could get into watching the new series, but the movies with the old original characters were ok. Now whenever I try to watch reruns of the old series, I just have to turn it over, because the special effects remind me of a high school play.

remember the Drydock in the first movie where they pulled in the Enterprise for repair?

I was the underbidder of that model at $7500. The model is 10 feet long and around 6 feet high. Would have taken up a good amount of room at my office! I told my wife and she just rolled her eyes! priceless

I guess I better chime in....

My other "secret life" is doing books and models for Star Trek--since 1977. I have had friends that have worked for Paramount for many years (Andrew Probert, Doug Drexler, Geoffrey Mandel (www.geoffreymandel.com), Mike and Denise Okuda) I've been to P'mt many times, and have visited the sets of ST-TNG, and Enterprise.

I wrote some books years ago (how I learned how to write and self-publish books) called "Star Fleet Assembly Manuals:

http://culttvman.net/starfleet_assembly_manuals.html

And...I made a small prop for Enterprise (not sure if it was in the auction). It was the NOMAD satellite:

http://members.aol.com/IDICPage3/nomad.html

And JAG, too....

http://culttvman.com/paul_m__newitt_s_jag_biplane.html

and I made ten $3,000 Enterprise-D models with lights and sound--by remote for the Hilton in Las Vegas (ST-The Experience).

So, now you know....

the NOMAD was not part of the Christies auction.

Thanks, Jason,

They must be saving the ENTERPRISE stuff for the new movie--and series, which will take place during the TOS (the original series) time frame.

Paul.

I have a medallion that says "Star Trek" "Deep Space Nine" "Cast and Crew" 1993-1994. It has a picture of a spaceship, an earth and a few planets on it. I don`t even know where I got it. I wonder if it is collectible?
