Anyone been following the Star Trek auction at Christies?

(I can't believe I'm talking about this....but here goes...)

In my experience, the "Trekkies" are the ones they made fun on on "Sat Night Live" with Shatner, years ago. Yep, just what you think :"they've never kissed a girl, and live in their parent's basement"... Just go to a convention, and you'll see them.

"Trekkers" are the more serious types...usually the computer geek types..and work at Nasa, Microsoft, etc.. Kind of more subtle about it.

Trek Fans are like professionals that keep a toy phaser in their exec desk at work, etc...

You should get, or rent the DVD "Trekkies", or "Trekkies 2". That will pretty much define who is who. Pretty funny. But--you have to admire the Trek fans in Serbia (?). The vision of the future helps them see beyond their past.

And, I admit, back in the 1970's I was right in there with them...and strangely enough, driving my GT/CS to the meetings, too. How weird is that??

LOL!!!!

Hmmmm, I've never kissed a girl  but I did rent a basement apartment once.
Sorry, I couldn't resist that one. I'm going to my corner now.

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I understand (way more than I think I needed too:eek: ).
I never got into that Star Trek stuff. I would rather be in the garage or at the race track when everyone else was watching Star Trek.
