Besides the original who sells the best fitting side scoops in the aftermarket?

Thanks!

In my opinion, they will all require work. But I ordered mine from Branda. Did not seem to take alot of work - fit pretty good - looks like orignal when painted.

Had my passenger-side scoop cracked in a parking-lot altercation  - body shop ordered a new scoop from Branda for sand/prime/paint/restripe - as far as I can tell from the work-order, it didn't require any extension massaging to get it to fit. Looks factory to me!

From what I've read in various Mustang forums, Branda makes some of the best fiberglass repros.

Still not sure where the witness line is. Is it the faint line at the top of the scoop, running from front-to-back, about halfway between where the scoop meets the body and where it starts to curve down?

I'll take a pic of mine later today if that's the right location.

Hey guys don't forget about R & R classics. The side scoops that I sell are exact copies of the originals. If you look at the back of an original scoop you will see a cone shaped post for the mounting bolt. The last set that I received from Branda didn't have that post they just had the bolt epoxied in place. I know that the back side doesn't matter when the scoop is on the car, but it really is a strength issue more than an appearance issue. As mentioned before all of the fiberglass scoops will need some fitting done.

Your cost would be $150 for the pair plus shipping.

Cheers,

Ron

It's the ridge that runs along the front of the scoop, about 1/4" back.

Most painters sand off the ridge before a repaint, and most reproduction scoops don't have the ridge.

Well, now, this is disconcerting.

My (original, AFAIK) driver's side scoop has no witness line - may've been sanded down, may've never been there.

The passenger-side scoop (replacement from Branda) has the witness line. The (original, pre-accident) pass scoop _also_ has a witness line (and a nice crack in it - don't know why I keep it hanging on the garage wall).

So now I've got mismatched scoops - bummer.

However, we now know that the Branda scoops are accurate repros.
