...Last Saturday at the Grass Valley Car Show hosted by our local Downtown Association. This event gets bigger every year with an historic backdrop and weather that couldn't be better!

We brought five Mustangs including Renee's "Foster / Stevenson" Special, the red 390GT and black 302 GT/CSs, TJ's coupe and the Cobra-Jet Mach. We planned to bring more, but the other seasoned drivers had conflicting activities (one being a darned quilt show! ;-)

The place was packed and it literally took all day to get through the crowds for all the socializing with great people! Almost two hours alone just to finish a sandwich!

350+ cars and tons of appreciative admiration! Very special thanks to "pilots" Joe, Carol, Deana, Renee and TJ!

...It worked out well that we didn't completely fill our assigned space. This allowed for two immaculate Cobras to be parked next to us (one being raffled for charity) which enhanced our section all the more!

After the show and with everything running good, we embarked on a pleasant 20-mile cruise along a scenic highway to our favorite eatery and more photo ops... :)

...Sunday was equally thrilling! Renee returned and we headed to Beale Air Force Base to get as close as possible to my original inspiration for driving high-performance classics. "High-Performance Aviation"! :)

That's the nice thing about being raised in California, Marty. Multi-tasking!
We were trained to drink coffee, talk on the radio, text on the phone, eat a burger and shoot pictures... and women placed mirrors in their visors to add "face painting" to the mix. Seasoned drivers here can even read books and do homework using calculators!

But as a result, all bad laws originated in California ;-)))

And that is exactly why we Deputy Coroners are soooooooo busy these days. Tim, When you say "We" you speak of "OUR" generation. The kids now a days seem to lack the common sense "WE" were born with. Of course I reserve the right to add others to that list. LOL. Jewell the Ghoul

...So true Mike! ...which is why I took my computer out of the car. Not to mention I kept losing points for the battery inverter, satelite dish where antenna was and USB cig lighter ;-)

I had the joy of eating at T.J.s Roadhouse!!! YUUMM YUM! I always forget how many people get to drive Tim's cars on these special weekends! Wish I lived closer!

Love the A-10 Warthog photo!!! One of the best purpose built airframes ever designed and manufactured!

Ooh... Sorry Cory, but I already gave them to Mike ;-O

Thanks Tim, I'm almost able to unload the car from the trailer like "KITT", on the fly when I go to shows. With the gizzmos I got from you I can almost drive it remotely to the show field from the trailer. LOL.

...I will get up there! Not to worry, but for the next two months I'm putting cars away and shifting gears to "planes". I spent most of today doing all manor of maintenance - charging batteries, running, testing, adjusting, dusting........>

Should I not survive this monotonous air show planning - someone will eventually stumble onto one hell of a "barn find" ;-)

Tim,

Is the fourth plane flying with the P-38, F-16 and A10 an AD-1 Skyraider? It's been bugging me since you posted that picture.

...Sorry to "bug" you on Mother's Day, Cameron ;-)

Yes, it's an AD-1. One of my air race friends flew Sandy missions in these during Viet Nam. Its reliable R3350 engine inspired him to build his Hawker Sea Fury Unlimited air racer with the same (though hopped-up) motor that developed nearly 4,000 hp and 480+ mph speeds!
