Good afternoo,

I am building a ‘68 tribute car and have purchased a few sets of OEM CS scripts. Would someone kindly provide me with measurements or a template for putting the emblems on the quarters and for the “mustang”script on the deck lid In the right location?

I know some people frown on tribute cars, but I have worked hard at making a car that does justice to the your actual cars. It is my daughter’s first car (now finishing a complete, rotisserie restoration) …. my daughter is now 26 and, along with her boyfriend, gives me hope that the classic car gene won’t die with my generation.

Her car happens to be a January built San Jose car with early reflectors. We live about as far from California in the US as you can get (Maryland), so finding an almost rust free body shell over a decade ago was a pleasant surprise,

Thanks in advance,
Carsten

I can send you those, but we'll need the car's VIN so we can show it as a tribute car in the registry. When it's sold a few times people may forget it isn't a true GT/CS, so we keep track of the tributes.

Of course…. I am not trying to hide anything…. 8R01T129335

A couple additional things, 1) the car is not built as a clone and is not a nut and bolt restoration. I hope my daughter drives it often. Any knowledgable person would never confuse this with a real CS. 2). I suspect she will never sell it, but I understand that the future is not predictable.

Thanks so much… and remember every person who asks about her car in an area where they are likely not to see a real one, is an opportunity for more exposure for your cars.

I wanted to ask question of everyone is script same as the recessed reflected fender the same as the one on top. I know we have had these talks before. II remember hookedtrout saying is template did not work. I also remember early early cars maybe hand drilled argument. Does anybody know what there c1 and s1 measurements are , was there consensus?

Rob noticed that some of the first cars had scripts that are higher than the regular production cars. This affected only a few cars and wasn't necessarily dictated by which reflector was used.

Here's an example or a normal recessed reflector placement.

I assume you are saying there is no difference in script placement between recessed reflector and later on top? (barring maybe the first few)
