Here is an interesting brochure on ebay. Notice the nuance that it says "The West Made It Happen". My brochure (original from a dealer, and still available today on ebay) says "California Made It Happen".

The oddity is that this brochure (The West Made it Happen) refers to a GTCS and not an HCS. Doesnt make sense to me. Any thoughts? Casey

That is interesting , seeing as my brochure reads "California made it happen" also. I just now bid on it, 'cause of being into the HCS cars more so than the CS cars, although some of you know that I bought a Royal Maroon CS last year to restore. Casey, if you were going to bid on this brocure, sorry I didn't ask first, just let me know and I'll back off of it and wait for the next one to show up. Sorry again, that was very inconsiderate of me to bid, seeing as it was your find. Please let me know! Bob Teets here

Bob - Happy for you to bid on it. I wasnt planning to bid. I just happen to catch the nuance and wondered about it - and thought you might find it interesting too. Good luck on your bid.

For anyone wanting the NOS Cal Special brochure, these are still available constantly on ebay from Bill (aka 'dodgerbillp'). I got one and they are nice - I framed mine in an inexpensive poster frame and intend to use to catch people's attention when taking the CS to shows. Here is the link to that one:

It is rather unique in that both brochure's show the same car with same plate # and pictures. Only difference is the wording on front. Wonder if that could be due to additional printings being done to ensure dealers didn't run out of brochure's?

I own both versions. I bought both of them because of the the "West" in the second one. This may have been the promotion when the CS cars were sent to the Seattle, Kansas City, and other DSOs and may have not only been intended for the HCS.

i think you're right mike. i bet ford originally planned on selling these cars (gt/cs) only to the california districts. when they found that these cars weren't going over as well as expected, ford decided to expand the market to neighboring states. when they did this, i bet they printed the "west" dealer brochure to accomodate these other sales districts that were also in the western states.
just my thoughts.

I just wanted to reiterate what Casey stated earlier.... For those of you wanting original dealer brochures and promo posters for you CS, Bill P is the man. I have purchased quite of few things from him over the years and he is trustworthy and pleasant to work with. He had a pic of my car plastered on his website once upon a time. Not sure if it's still there.
I currently have my dealer brochure framed and displayed in front of my car at the car shows. It answers many of the questions people continuesly ask.
